Step Forward to Cure Autism, Epilepsy, and Cancer!
We choose to fight, not only for Bao, but for the 1 in 6000 kids like him born with TSC every day…50,000 in the U.S…over 1 million worldwide. TSC is more common than Lou Gehrig’s disease and Cystic Fibrosis, but you’ve never heard of it. And there is no cure. Yet!

Ours is a story of determination. Our stunningly small group of parents, through sheer will and passion, have brought this disease to the brink of a breakthrough. We are joined in our fight by aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, grandparents and friends, co-workers and colleagues. We’re asking you to join us in the fight to find a cure! Please support parents like Ann and I who have refused to give up, refused to take no for an answer, even when faced with the daily challenges of seizures, autism, ADHD, facial disfiguration, anxiety, behavioral problems, and medical complications.

We’re making HUGE strides in finding a cure for TSC. Here’s what we know now that we didn’t know just two short years ago: TSC is what’s called a “linchpin” disease. The genetic pathway involved in TSC is the same pathway affecting over a dozen major diseases and disorders, including autism, epilepsy, cancer, and obesity. We’ve got a long way to go, but recent clinical trials of a new drug actually show the symptoms of autism disappearing in mice. We’re in a race against time and our resources are strained beyond their limits!

Beginning on May 16th, we are holding a major fundraising "Step Forward to Cure TSC" in UT and Southern California. Please join our fight by supporting Team Bao and helping to break the back of this horrific disorder. You can make donations securely at:

United Negro College Fund (www.uncf.org)
About UNCF
At a time when a college degree is what a high school diploma was to previous generations, the minimum entry-level requirement for almost every well-paying career, UNCF plays a critical role in enabling more than 65,000 students each year to attend college and get the education they want and deserve. To close the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population, UNCF helps promising students attend college and graduate by:• Providing operating funds for its 39 member colleges, all of them small, liberal arts institutions, making it possible for them to offer their students 21st century academic programs while keeping their tuitions to less than half the average of other private colleges;• Administering 300 scholarship and internship programs, so that even students from low- and moderate income families can afford college tuition, books and room and board;• Serving as a national advocate for the importance minority higher education by representing the public policy interests of its students and member colleges, through its annual television program, An Evening of Stars®, and by using print and electronic media to carry out the mission implicit in its motto, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."®Quick Facts

FUND RAISING EFFORT FOR CUBA

"Financial help desperately needed to support Cuban Pastors and Seminary Students"

Rev. Jerold Boodhoo, Pastor of the Emmanuel Mission, Church of the Nazarene in Toronto, Canada, visited Cuba twice this year and has identified a desperate financial need that exist among his denomination pastors and full-time theological seminary students.

Discussions with his denomination church leaders, pastors and full-time seminary students really made an impression on him. He was so touched and moved by the poverty he saw while visiting many of the churches in Havana that created a heavy burden upon his heart that urged him to help these loving and faithful Christian people. He decided to immediately start raising money upon his return to Canada to help support the Cuban pastors and their families and the full-time resident seminary students, many of whom live in very cramped and poor living conditions that consists of the very bare basic necessities of life.

What impressed him the most was the fact that no one asked for money or help but instead were willing to share the little they had. The welcome and love he experienced from the Cubans whereever he visited cannot be compared.

Facts: The average Cuban pastor or worker earns the equivalent of about $10 US dollars per month. The full-time seminary students are assigned to specific churches every weekends and earns the equivalent of about $1 or $2 US dollars per month.

You can help Rev. Boodhoo in this financial drive by giving whatever you can afford to help support these Cuban pastors and their families as they spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a nation that is desperately looking for hope. A donation of $50 US dollars will provide food, housing accommodation and cover the tuition fees for one full year for a full-time seminary student. Rev Jerold Boodhoo will be visiting Cuba very soon again and will personally hand over 100% of all your donations to the Cuban church leaders. Rev. Boodhoo can be contacted directly by E-mail if you will like to find out more about this project: E-mail address: jboodhoo@sympatico.ca

Please make your donations by checks or money order in US dollars only and payable to:

THE BREAT CANCER WEB SITE
www.thebreastcancersite.com

The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate a mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site. Please pass it along to 10 people.
